Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

What happens to my FSA at the end of the year?

What happens to your Health Care FSA depends on what kind of FSA your employer has. There are three options:

  1. Health Care FSA with rollover: You can roll over up to $550 into the next plan year.
  2. Health Care FSA with grace period: You will have 2.5 months after your plan year ends to spend whatever is left in your account.
  3. Standard Health Care FSA: You will lose any money left unspent at the end of your plan year.

With all of that in mind, there are plenty of easy and practical ways to spend your extra FSA dollars. Check out the FSA Store if you need inspiration.
